Private Summer House

Stockholm 2004
This 90+40 sq.m. summer house is located on an island outside of Stockholm. The brief came from a family with teenagers, that required open living spaces for the whole family, with a parents’ bedroom close-by and a separate part for the young people to be by themselves. Located on a steep site, facing the open sea, the house naturally climbs downhill with the two-levelled open living room forming the hub and the separate ‘teenage’ part connected only by the roof. Living spaces provide a see-through view of the sea from the back of the house, as well as a full view from inside the space. The high level in detailing is essential for this small building with its simple choice of materials.
