Private Summer House

Öland 2007
This 90 sq.m. summer house for a young family of four is located on the northern part of Öland in the Pine woodland with a view over Kalmarsund.

The common areas and contact with the nature was the main focus for this summer house project.

Walls and roof are made of solid cross-laminated timber boards and the structural advantages of this material made it possible to build this house with the expression of a simple plain roof slab.

The roof slab extends on all sides, and especially on the south side of the house where it creates a space shielded from midday summer sun and rain.
