Cederquist
Stockholm 2008
The project concerned the interior design for public areas such as entry lobby, reception and conference facilities as well as library and café etc. The design of the inner courtyard was the central theme for the project. It is not a space only for Cederquist, but also visually present for other tenants. The inner courtyard has therefore been given the character of an open piazza with stonewalls, greenery, furnishings and lighting. There is also a scene where performances and events will take place.
The interior is deliberately designed to support the artworks, meetings and people. The sculptural and clear form’s, the clean surfaces and distinct colour on the walls and furniture give each unit identity and character. The interior and its palette interact with and strengthen Cederquist’s new Corporate Identity.
The elements of the interior design are costume made. Reception and bar, benches, stools, tables and storage products are developed specially for the project. The two stairs at the piazza is also designed for their specific purposes. The wooden stair serves as both the stage and as seating. The steel stair is a new swift internal connection between the different levels.
The library's location creates a filter between the external and internal activities. On the one hand the Bistro and the small square for all employees and on the other side guestrooms distributed as shops around the square. The meeting rooms are designed to have access from two sides. The rooms towards Blasieholmsgatan have been withdrawn from the facade to give privacy to the rooms and a zone for phone calls, short meetings and simplified communications for guests and hosts.
